HP Discover 2025: 200+ Sales Leaders vs. Our AI Sales Avatar - What We Learned

200+ sales leaders pitched to our AI avatar at HP Discover. Here’s what worked, what broke, and why AI training hits harder than any classroom session.

Last week at HPE Discover 2025, over 200 sales leaders stepped up to try our AI-powered Demo App. Each of them met our voice-enabled AI avatar - essentially a virtual “buyer” ready to be sold to. The experience was nothing short of electric, and we came away with some powerful insights.

What Resonated

Authentic, Human-Like Interaction: The AI avatar didn’t feel like a robot at all - it felt human. It talked back, joked, challenged the pitch, and stayed on point, much like a real buyer would. In fact, most participants got “hilariously roasted” by our opinionated avatar when they tried to sell it a car (yes, it has a personality!). This playful realism wasn’t just for laughs - it put sellers into a realistic scenario where they had to think on their feet.

Spot-On Feedback: After each pitch, the structured feedback was immediate and razor-sharp. Attendees saw a clear breakdown of their performance - what they did well and what they could improve - right on the spot. Better yet, the feedback was eerily aligned with the very skills many of these sales leaders are already coaching their teams on. It wasn’t generic fluff; it was specific and actionable. One leader commented that the avatar highlighted the same improvement areas he drills into his team - talk about validation!

Where AI “Clicked”: The big aha! moment for many was the combination of an authentic conversation + instant scoring. What We Heard (Feedback & Objections)

Of course, we also got great constructive feedback from our crowd. Here are the key things 200+ savvy sales leaders told us to improve:

  • Visual Realism: The avatar’s look isn’t ultra-realistic yet. Some folks expected a more life-like visual. (On the flip side, others actually liked the more animated look - it made the experience feel safe, with less emotional friction during practice.)
  • Response Lag: There was a 3-8 second pause before the avatar responded. A few people found this lag disruptive to the conversation flow. We know every second counts, so this is on our radar to speed up.
  • Stability & Features: As with any emerging tech demo, we hit a few bugs and missing features. A couple of sessions saw server disconnects or quirks in the avatar’s responses. Nothing deal-breaking, but definitely noted.

We appreciate this feedback immensely. Every comment points us to a sharper product.
